Access and licensing

The corpus is free. Embedding the calculators on your own site, and a delivery guarantee on the data, are not.

The corpus on this site is free and openly licensed, and it stays that way. Open access is what earns citation, and citation is the only distribution a reference site of this kind gets. So the free tier is not a sample of a paid product - it is the product.

Read this before considering anything below. Under CC BY 4.0 you may already copy every page and every calculator on this site, modify them, host them yourself, and charge your own customers for the result. Permission is not for sale here, because you already have it. Anyone selling you a licence to use CC BY material is selling you something you own.

What the public licence deliberately withholds is narrower, and that is what is actually on offer: it makes attribution mandatory (section 3(a)), it disclaims every warranty and all liability (section 5), and it obliges nobody to do any work for you. A waiver of attribution, a warranty with an indemnity behind it, and someone doing the fitting are therefore real things to buy. Everything else here is free.

Detail

The corpus - free, free, and free to reuse commercially

Every page, every JSON endpoint, the full-corpus text, and every calculator - source included. No key, no account, no rate limit. Under CC BY 4.0 you may already copy this, change it, put it on your own site and charge for the result. That is not a trial tier; it is the licence.

  • All reference pages and their JSON twins
  • llms.txt and llms-full.txt - the whole corpus in one request
  • Change feed (JSON + Atom) so you poll instead of re-crawling
  • Every calculator, self-contained, inputs encoded in the URL
  • Commercial reuse, adaptation and redistribution, including for model training and retrieval
  • Condition: keep the attribution required by CC BY 4.0 section 3(a)

Attribution waiver - quote, one-time, per calculator or per site

Ship a calculator with no attribution notice and no link back, as if it were yours. This is the one thing the public licence explicitly withholds - section 3(a) makes attribution a condition of use - so it is the one thing there is actually to grant.

  • Written waiver of the CC BY attribution condition for the named use
  • Your CSS variables, fonts and labels; no visible provenance
  • Self-contained file: no external requests, no analytics, nothing calls home
  • Perpetual for the version delivered

Priced with reference to the published card for self-hosted financial calculators, which runs from roughly $170 for a single calculator to five figures for a full library. Quote on request, because scope differs.

Warranty and indemnity - quote, annual, per deployment

CC BY 4.0 section 5 disclaims every warranty and all liability, which is fine for a reference site and not fine if a wrong number reaches a financing document. This attaches a correctness warranty, a fix commitment, and an indemnity to a specific deployment.

  • Written warranty that the delivered calculation matches its stated formula
  • Defined correction window for a confirmed defect
  • Indemnity, scope and cap set in the agreement
  • Notice before any change to a formula or an output field

This is the product a regulated buyer actually needs, and the one that cannot exist without a contracting entity on both sides. Ask and you will be told plainly what is and is not in place today.

Fitting and hosted delivery - quote, project, or monthly

Work, not rights: adapting a calculator to your inputs and house conventions, or running the data as a service with an uptime commitment, freshness webhooks instead of polling, and bulk export shaped for indexing.

  • Calculator fitted to your parameters, naming and validation rules
  • Webhook on every content-change event
  • Bulk NDJSON export of the whole corpus
  • Schema-change notice ahead of a breaking change
  • A response-time commitment

Worth saying which way this cuts: the corpus is small enough to fit in one context window, so if all you want is the data, take it for free and skip this. This is for people who want it maintained and fitted rather than copied.

What is deliberately not sold here

Access. There is no per-crawl toll and no paywall. That is measurement rather than principle: the only published first-hand test of charging AI crawlers over HTTP 402 collected about five cents from 5,811 crawler requests over thirty days, a payment rate under one tenth of one percent. A toll that small costs more in citations than it earns. The meter is built and one configuration value from live if that ever changes - see /pricing.json.

Permission. See above. It is already yours.

Exclusivity. Nothing here can be taken off the open licence retroactively. A CC licence, once granted, is irrevocable for what has already been published. If you need an exclusive dataset, this is the wrong supplier and it is better to say so now.

No account, no call required. Say what you want and where you would run it; you get a written quote back by email. An email address is the only thing required, and it is used for the reply and nothing else.

Reference information only. Not investment, legal, tax, or accounting advice. Day-count, settlement, quotation and reset conventions vary by market, by instrument class and by individual issue, and the convention that applies to a specific security is a term of that security.
